I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. – Psalms 63:8 NIV
When I take my three-year-old boy to the park, he sometimes clings to the side of the slide so that he can control how fast he goes down.
Do we cling to the Lord? Do we ask Him for help before defaulting to worry?
Honestly, I don’t know if I will ever stop worrying, especially because I am a mom now. But I take comfort knowing that God is strong and fully capable of handling all our worries. Amen.
Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. – Psalm 112:4 NKJV
In the middle of the night, there is darkness.
When we can’t sleep because we have too much on our minds, it can help to get up and read the Scriptures. God’s voice shines through the darkness. Whatever we are going through, His grace and mercy will shine upon us.
We have a compassionate God. He understands our pain and worries. He can direct our paths.
When it’s dark, we can’t see straight. His light shows us the way to go. He never leads us astray.
We can trust that when the sun comes up, we’ll have enough light to see clearly. Amen.
