This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. – John 15:12 KJV
The test that we are a true Christian is not that we are following the “right” doctrines, but that we can love one another in the same way that Christ loves us. His love does not condemn others for not following the “true” rules and regulations that so many churches incorporate into their subcultures.
Love is patient. Love is kind. When we find ourselves wanting to correct someone else besides we think he or she does understand our “truth,” we must remember that Jesus is patient with us. He always answers our questions. He does not always give us the answer we were expecting to hear, but He is always true, right, and fair. His love for us transcends anything else in this world. Amen.
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. – John 4:23 NIV
When our hearts are in the right place and we are seeking the truth when it comes to Christianity, sometimes we have to wait on the Lord.
God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, and we can trust that He will reveal to us exactly what we have to know and when.
He doesn’t keep us in the dark. The Lord is a God of light. Amen.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:14 KJV
Jesus is one of a kind. There is no other Savior like Him. There is no other being in the history of the universe who is God’s son and also who took the form of an ordinary human.
He embodies glory, grace, and truth. He is worthy of our time and attention. When we focus on what He tells us, we will never be disappointed. Amen.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. – Jeremiah 29:13
The Lord knows our hearts. What does it mean to seek the Lord? What do we expect to find? When we seek the Lord first, “the things of Earth grow strangely dim,” as the song “Seek Ye First” goes.
We seek the Lord when we come to Him in prayer. It is not only a time for requests but also a time for reverence. We are in awe of what God can do for us – what He has promised us.
His works are good. His law is sovereign. His justice is fair.
When we love the Lord, we communicate with Him daily through prayer and Bible study. He shares with us simple, yet beautiful truths. He knows what we need to hear and when. He loves us immensely. Amen.
