Prayer Journal: Day 96

Day 96

Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. – Psalm 116:7 NIV

Our dishwasher broke last night, and although it took time to hand wash the dishes, my husband helped dry them. Washing dishes in and of itself is like a meditative practice. I  could feel the warmth of the water. Even my two year old wanted to help. It became a family activity.

The Lord keeps us close. He blesses us with people in our lives who help and appreciate us. He helps us solve problems and to be thankful for what we have.

During the busy pace of this world it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle, but our Lord brings us back to thankfulness. Amen.

Prayer Journal: Day 87

Day 87

You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you. – Psalm 118:28 NIV

All good things come from the Lord. We can be thankful for the blessings He has given us. He gives us health. He gives us life. He gives us family and friendship.

The Lord protects us, guides us, comforts us, and is always there for us.

We can be thankful for the food on the table, the company we share, and the warmth in our homes.

Even in the midst of troubling times, the Lord gives us strength and endurance. We are never alone because He is with us.

When we find ourselves worried about uncertainties, He comforts us. He is our helper. The precious moments in life, the moments of stillness, meditation, and love, are good times to be remembered. He is there to enjoy them with us. Amen.

Prayer Journal: Day 67

Day 67

Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:3-4

Each morning that we have life and breath is a blessing.

The more I spend time reading the scriptures, praying, and listening to the Holy Spirit guide me, the more I have come to appreciate all that God has given me.

What the heart desires is not always what we need. God knows what we need and knows what will make us happy. He wants good things in our lives. We can trust His plan for us. Amen.
