Prayer Devotional: Day 46

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” – Revelation 5:13 NIV

There will come a time when every being on earth will praise the Lord, Jesus Christ. Regardless of our religious affiliation or our cultural upbringing, the universe and everything in it will honor the Lamb on that glorious day.

Sometimes it may feel like that day will not be within our lifetimes, because noone knows the day or the hour of Jesus’s Second Coming, except for our Heavenly Father. Some people say that day will be soon, but instead of spending time trying to predict when the Second Coming will happen, we can focus on spreading the good news of salvation through Jesus. Instead of hiding our light, we can let our light and love of Jesus shine through to everyone who knows us. Amen.

Prayer Journal: Day 335

Day 335

Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. – Isaiah 65:24 NIV

The Lord hears our cry even before we fold our hands and bow our heads to pray. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

When we surrender our worries and burdens to the Lord, He helps us focus on the lighter work of spreading the gospel.

Parents can easily distinguish their child’s cry from the cries of other kids. They are tuned in to their child’s dilemmas and are othen readily available to meditate situations. Children may not like to share and have to be taught.

The Lord is tuned in to our voices. He doesn’t ignore us. He asks us to share our faith, even if we don’t know how or what to say. He puts the right words in our months to encourage others. We can trust Him.
We are blessed to have such a kind Heavenly Father. Amen.

Prayer Journal: Day 95

Day 95

We were not looking for praise from men, not from you or anyone else. As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children. We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us. – 1 Thessalonians 2: 6-8

People pleasing isn’t something God asks us to do. The only one we need to please is our Lord. Sometimes we worry too much about what others think of us. Are they happy with us? Are they pleased with our work?

It is human nature to want to be appreciated, but God turns our focus elsewhere – towards Heaven. He can redirect our attention. Of course, He wants us to care about each other. He wants us to love one another as much as we love our own children. We have a beautiful gospel to share. Amen.
