Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. – John 16:22 NKJV
Jesus knew that His disciples would grieve after he died, but He also knew that He would be resurrected.
It is not a common thing for a man to die and come back to life. The Lord is a God of miracles, and we don’t always understand how they take place scientifically, only that they are possible. With God, nothing is impossible.
In this life we will lose loved ones and experience grief, but even though that grief really never goes away, as it only fades and comes back in waves, in the second coming everything will be restored. Holidays can sometimes be difficult when we have lost a loved one, because we remember both the joy of having them there but the sorrow of not having them with us at the present moment. We will see our loved ones again, including Jesus. That will be a joyful day. Amen.
And he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” – Luke 18:27 KJV
One of the worst words in the English language is “can’t.” With God, all things are possible. There is nothing He is not able to do.
When we find something that is lacking in our lives, it is not because God won’t provide it to us. To some extent, we may be resisting it, even though we want it. The Lord does not withhold good things from His children. He wants the best for us. He sacrificed His only begotten son so that we could live.
The Lord knows our needs even before we come to Him in prayer. His timing is perfect.
Our web of emotions and memories sometimes prevents us from realizing what God sees is possible for us. He knows our future. He can lead us with unwavering confidence to the path everlasting.
When we follow Him and surrender our burdens to Him, the weight on our shoulders becomes lighter. Amen.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14
With God, all things are possible. Jesus is the Word, and He blesses us by teaching us every day.
It’s sometimes difficult to comprehend how Jesus came to Earth to dwell among us. How humbling that must have been! God gives us miracles on a day-to-day basis. With God, nothing is impossible.
I know what it is like to have only one son. My toddler is precious. I delight in his every word and sentence. He is a smart little boy.
So, too, must it have been for those among Him to behold the glory of Jesus. He is God’s gift to humanity. Amen.
