The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but these things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. – Deuteronomy 29:29 NKJV
When we accept that the Lord knows more than we do, we can relinquish our desire to control what happens in our future. Not everything is up to us. God reveals things to us bit by bit, at the rate that we can handle. He doesn’t overwhelm us with too many changes all at once. He allows us to take things one at a time.
There is no need to feel overwhelmed or stressed when He is directing us.
When we find ourselves wondering if everything will be okay, we can set our minds at ease because God is in control. Amen.
The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed,
A refuge in times of trouble, and those who know Your name will put their trust in You,
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. – Psalm 9: 9-10
Sometimes, more often than not, I feel completely overwhelmed. I’m burnt out and have too much to do and can’t sleep. I lie awake in bed and pray to God but peace doesn’t always come just by asking Him for help.
Just because I try to take a deep breath and try to meditate doesn’t mean that the thoughts, to do list, and overwhelm disappear.
The world is too much. I have too much on my plate. I need to say “no” more often and “yes” to taking care of myself.
Taking better care of myself involves a lot of things I have been neglecting: my walk with the Lord, my health, my sleep, and my talents.
I have been doing everything to make everyone else happy for so many years that I am exhausted and depleted.
The only one I need to please is God, and He will never leave me.
