Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – John 14:27 KJV
The Holy Spirit comforts us and gives us peace.
Even though my toddler has a cold, I had enough energy to take care of him. My husband was able to get the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday at a pharmacy. Luckily my husband was able to get the vaccine and did not show any symptoms of the cold that my son has.
It can be tempting to let ourselves be troubled by the world around us, but if we count our blessings and do our best to stay healthy, the Lord will come to our aid.
He knows our fears and alleviates them. Amen.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. – John 7:38-39 NIV
When we let our belief in Jesus lead us, our lives flourish. When we forget to water a plant, it withers and dies. We need to drink from the Holy Spirit’s waters to be well hydrated and healthy.
When we are dehydrated, we get headaches. So also, when we are not connected with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and instead focus on our worries and external circumstances, our spiritual life starves for water.
If we find ourselves tired and frustrated, we can simply ask for His help, and He gives it freely. He is not stingy with His time.
Water gives life. We cannot survive without water, and we also cannot thrive without the Holy Spirit. He brings new life to our dreams. He gives us purpose and direction. He can guide us wherever we go. Amen.
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. – 1 John 4:12 NKJV
It is possible to love God even though we don’t see Him, because His love permeates all of His creations. His Spirit is with us and in us.
In a difficult world, it is not always easy to choose love. People around us change their minds. They don’t always follow through, but God knows that we live in an imperfect world, yet His love for us is perfect.
He will always be there for us, and we can look forward to seeing Him at the Second Coming.
God’s love transcends time and space. When we love like Him, it doesn’t matter how far apart we are, because His love connects us. Amen.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. – Romans 8:26 KJV
When we pray without ceasing, sometimes we don’t quite know what to pray for. The Lord knows what interventions need to be done to touch the hearts of those we care about who may be struggling.
The Lord knows ultimately the best way to reach people who desperately need Him. Perhaps they may have lost touch with Him along the way and have forgotten how much He loves them.
It is not our job to dictate to others how they should communicate with God. God is the judge, not us. We can trust that He will take care of everything and everyone.
What we can do is simply pray for His help, and He will do the rest. Amen.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
Jesus doesn’t ask us to sit at home and do nothing. He wants us to go and spread the good news to the nations about salvation, in whatever way we can.
Baptism is a commitment to our Eternal Father, to abide by His commandments and to trust that when the Holy Spirit speaks to us–in that still, quiet voice–we must listen.
His words are powerful. We never know how we can make a difference in the lives of other people.
Jesus being in us means that we are changing for the better. Jesus is the promise of a happy ending. Amen.
However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, nor ear heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him” –but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. – 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NIV
Sometimes we cannot even begin to fathom what God has prepared for us.
All we can do is pray with a willing spirit and trust that our Lord will always lead us where we need to go. We can trust that wherever the Holy Spirit impresses us to go, it is for a good reason.
God knows what He is doing.
We may not always understand why things happen to us, but the Holy Spirit is never confused. The Holy Spirit can reveal to us which direction our lives need to go. He guides us with a deep understanding. Amen.
