The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. – Zephaniah 3:17 NIV
Sometimes I wonder after a long period of illness if God was punishing me for something I had unknowingly done wrong. But other times, I think that maybe I did nothing wrong, and the hardships I experienced were ways of teaching me wisdom and appreciation for good health, a good job, and a supportive family.
The Lord delights in us. He wants to see us happy and successful. He wants us to live a righteous life according to His purpose. We sometimes don’t understand why bad things happen, but we can have faith that one day He will reveal everything to us. Amen.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. – Psalms 37:5-6 NIV
A funny thing happens when we commit to something we care about. Everything falls into place. When we trust the Lord in all things: family, career, and health, the Lord rewards us.
A reward from God is not always monetary, although sometimes He will show us we are on the right track by giving us prosperity. A reward can simply be a feeling of happiness, gratitude, and contentment. The Lord has given us an incredible inheritance: eternal life. Our trials are temporary. Amen.
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. – Psalm 37:4 KJV
When we seek the Lord first, everything adds up for us. We don’t have to make long lists of things we want, and monetary goals, because money doesn’t buy happiness.
When we delight in the Lord, not only does He bless us, but also everything that He wants for us works out perfectly. We don’t have to worry about money, because He has already met all our needs. When we seek His face, everything falls into place. Amen.
