If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. – Romans 10:9 NIV
In the past, I tried to live by example, but I very rarely said anything about God to other people unless they specifically asked me.
Declaring that Jesus is our Lord takes courage. Other people might not hold the same beliefs as we do, but what we can do is share how loving Jesus has changed our lives.
Despite all the scientific advancements and medical breakthroughs of today, not a single Nobel prize winner has figured out how to match the salvation that Jesus brings us. Salvation is a gift. We don’t have to try to replicate it; we can simply accept it. Amen.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: For I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance. – Psalm 42:5 KJV
Our relationship with the Lord is not a joint venture business relationship. We do not exchange our money and good works for salvation through Jesus Christ. Jesus gave all so that we would live. The exchange was not equal, and He was not coerced onto the Cross to atone for our sins. He sacrificed Himself for us because of pure, unselfish love. If only we could understand the magnitude of His sacrifice for us, we would not grumble about our day-to-day chores.
Our loving Heavenly Father wants to align us with the right people who can further His purpose for us. We never feel taken advantage of when Christ is at work in our lives. We never feel exploited. It is a relationship based on true love, for which we can be eternally grateful. We are blessed to know the Lord. Amen.
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.” – Isaiah 12:2 NIV
When we trust in the Lord, things work out for us. Our children love us. Our work is fulfilling. Our salvation is secure.
The Lord gives us strength when we are weak and tired. He never forgets about us. He takes relationships and restores them. His love reflects upon every aspect of our lives when we seek Him first. He is good, and all good things come from Him. Amen.
