The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. – Isaiah 58:11
I live in a desert. But I don’t seem to mind that we have less water. Different vegetation grows. There is still beauty in the desert. God has a way of making even deserts beautiful.
I struggle sometimes with a scarcity mindset. When I left my day job and became a full-time entrepreneur, I didn’t imagine how hard it would be to be a full-time mom, as well. Being a parent is a full-time job in and of itself.
When you are your own boss, you are responsible for your own health insurance and your own retirement planning. It is a mindset shift, but God wants to transform and renew our minds to not focus on money or the lack thereof, but on Him and His purpose for our lives.
God knows we have financial needs, and He takes care of us, even during a pandemic. Jesus lived at a time before Roth IRAs and health insurance, yet He followed His Father’s will to the fullest. He had his priorities straight. He knows what is best for us and how to take care of us. Jesus is like the water in a garden during a drought. We can always count on Him. Amen.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfected and complete, lacking nothing. – James 1:4
God doesn’t want us to have a lack mentality. He shows us that He created the universe, and He lacked nothing. He had everything He needed to create the world – just words. We can trust Him with our finances.
We don’t have to worry because if we tithe 10% of our income to Him, He is faithful and will bless us financially so that all of our bills will be covered and then some. A father gives good gifts to his children, and the Lord gives us good gifts, too. He does not want us to be so worried about money that we stop offering tithe. Everything comes from the Lord, and He loves a cheerful giver.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many were hit hard financially. Many people lost their jobs. Many people lost their health insurance, but God is faithful and He will take care of us. Even if we have to cut back and find creative ways to bring in more income, God gives us many employable talents with which to help others. He will never leave us destitute. He always has a plan for our lives. He knows what will happen next, and He has our back. Amen.
