Prayer Journal: Day 184
Day 184
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. – John 11:25 NKJV
Jesus makes it possible for all of us who believe in Him to live after death.
Because of Jesus and the resurrection, life is not “nasty, brutish, and short” the way that philosopher, Hobbes said. Instead, Jesus has given us a second life.
Through one man, Adam, most everyone will suffer what it is like to die. Yet through one man’s sacrifice, Jesus, we are saved. Salvation is nothing less than a miracle.
Human beings, despite scientific advancements, will never be capable of generating everlasting life.
Science fiction paints a world where we have a future in which we figure out how to live forever, but the answer is simple. Jesus accomplished salvation for us. Amen.

Day 168
For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death. – Psalm 48:14 NKJV
The trials we face in life help us to appreciate the life that God gives us. He is our God, and He always will be.
A mentor helps people achieve a goal because he or she has already experienced success in that area and can guide someone else along that path.
Jesus has already experienced death and everlasting life. There is nobody more qualified to guide us to everlasting life than Jesus. He is the way, and He knows the way. When we listen to Him and spend time reading His Word, our lives are blessed. We learn to appreciate the gifts that He has given us even more. Amen.
Prayer Journal: Day 129
Day 129
He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young. – Isaiah 40:11 NIV
The Lord is gentle with us, as a shepherd cares for his sheep. He comforts us when we are feeling down. He restores us when we are tired. He especially helps us when we have children to tend to who need constant supervision and love.
We can easily get ourselves into trouble, but He is there to catch us when we fall. The path of righteousness sometimes seems hard, but in the end it will all be worth it.
He created us, and He saved us. We can trust that wherever He leads us, it is safe to follow. He will not lead us astray. He will not forget that we need directions and a map. He can guide us to the way everlasting. Amen.
Prayer Journal: Day 112
Day 112
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. – Psalm 62:1
It’s a glorious thing that the Lord can give us rest for our souls when we are weary.
I often crash land into the Sabbath. By the end of the week, I really need to rest, and God knows I need to restore my spirit. He knows I need to turn my eyes upon Him so that I can refocus my energy on my work during the week to come.
No other person can bring rest and salvation the way Jesus Christ can. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He cares about us deeply and is present in our lives.
We need to practice listening to Him and focusing on the everlasting life He offers us. Then the things of Earth can grow dim. Amen.
