A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. – Proverbs 16:9 KJV
We can make plans, but the Lord determines where we go.
My toddler has a barrel of energy, and sometimes he is too much for me to handle. I am considering putting him in daycare four hours a day so that I can rest and work. Currently, I work when he is napping, but some days he skips his nap entirely and other days I am too exhausted to work when he is sleeping.
The Lord knows that we need rest and He provides a way so that everything can work out for us. We don’t have to worry because He already has things figured out for us. We can trust that He has the details worked out. Amen.
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31 NIV
Jesus loves us more than life itself. He is on our side. He is for us.
When life seems uncertain, one thing is for sure: Jesus loves us and saved us. We can be grateful for His sacrifice. He is here to help us.
When we are tired, He is there. When we are sad, He is there. We are never alone. When we are afraid, He gives us courage.
The Lord wants good things for those who love and trust Him. We don’t have to rely on couches, mentors, and marketers for wisdom, because wisdom comes ultimately from God. We can tune into His voice. Amen.
Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. – Psalm 112:4 NKJV
In the middle of the night, there is darkness.
When we can’t sleep because we have too much on our minds, it can help to get up and read the Scriptures. God’s voice shines through the darkness. Whatever we are going through, His grace and mercy will shine upon us.
We have a compassionate God. He understands our pain and worries. He can direct our paths.
When it’s dark, we can’t see straight. His light shows us the way to go. He never leads us astray.
We can trust that when the sun comes up, we’ll have enough light to see clearly. Amen.
