And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, “Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.” – Matthew 26:1-2 KJV
Unlike us, Jesus could predict the future. He knew exactly what would happen at the cross. Did He experience fear? He accepted the anointing of oil on His feat, because He knew it represented preparation for His burial. Did Jesus fear death the way we do? Did He experience sorrow when one of His own close friends and disciples betrayed Him? How humbling it must have been to realize that He could not trust all twelve of His disciples fully after all the time He had spent with them.
Every breath we take is a blessing. Every moment that we spend with our loved ones is to be cherished. Jesus knew that the quality time that He spent with others was worth it. What an incredible sacrifice He made for us! His righteousness is difficult to fathom, and we are saved because of it. Amen.
