Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them. – Jeremiah 29:5 KJV
As Thanksgiving nears, we have many things to thank God for. Despite the hardships that the pandemic has brought on, so many people have persevered.
When we look at our cozy homes and the surrounding gardens, sometimes it seems like the plants and animals around us are unaffected by the pandemic. Plants still grow. The sun still shines. We have warm houses, loving families, and supportive co-workers.
God gives us something to be thankful for every day. It’s the little things that count. Amen.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.” – Lamentations 3:24 NIV
When the Holy Spirit impresses us to donate to a nonprofit that helps those in need, He works on our hearts.
Instead of saying to ourselves that we don’t have enough money to donate to charity, we can focus on the infinite inheritance that God has in store for us. Even on earth He blesses us with abundance.
Try it! Pay it forward and see how that Lord makes a difference. We can all contribute a little. The Lord knows we are waiting for Him, and He is welcoming us with open arms. Amen.
P.S. Today the Holy Spirit moved me to donate to the Amara Cares nonprofit, which delivers care packages to the needy in third-world countries. Pay it forward! Donate here to the same charity or another that God inspires you to give to. God Bless!
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV
When God blesses us with financial stability, we can tithe knowing that our money comes from the Lord, and we are giving back a portion of what He has already given to us.
We can be proud that we have money to tithe!
The Lord shows us every time we give back that He will pour out more blessings upon us. He rewards our faith. Amen.
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV
Sometimes blessings come after big transitions. As much as we may resist change, we still have to accept it and realize that the Lord brings about change for a reason.
Maybe He calls us to start a new job or move to another state. Perhaps He asks us to set better boundaries and take better care of ourselves.
When the Lord calls us to change something about our lives and we listen and follow through, we see the benefits in our work. Abundance is not a mystical thing, because all good things come from the Lord. He blesses us abundantly if we are willing to accept His calling for our lives. Amen.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. – King James Version (KJV)
When family members or friends are ill, our heart goes out to them. We can pray for them and also ask our church family to pray for them. Sometimes the Lord restores their health. Other times, He makes us see His perfect will. We may not understand His timing, but it is always fair.
We can also pray for the Lord to show us what actions we can take to comfort those around us. Maybe it is sending a card, placing a phone call, or bringing over some food. We never know how much we can shape the lives of other people, so we can be thoughtful when we consider what we can do to help.
It is important to renew our walk with the Lord every day so that we don’t forget about his blessings. Jesus comforts us and never forgets about us. He is always there when we need Him. Amen.
Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel. – Proverbs 27:9 NKJV
I miss seeing my friends in person. When I moved, I didn’t really think about the impact it might have on my life to not have the same weekly interactions with my friends whom I was used to spending time with.
It is a weight not to have friends or try to replace friends just because I am in a new location.
The advice my friends gave me when I was close by is just as good as the counsel that they give me when I am far away. Friendship is forever and God blesses us with good people in our lives. It is up to us to show love and maintain our friendships. Amen.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. – 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
God loves us so much that He gives us an inheritance and a covenant. When God blessed Abraham, He asked Abraham to move, and to go to the land that He promised.
I received the keys to my new house on 4/9/21, and I couldn’t help but marvel at how much the Lord has given me. I wanted a safe place to live, and He delivered more than I could ask or think.
We have hope that we will be with our Heavenly Father forever, and the relationship continues no matter where we are.
We have faith that Jesus saves us, heals us, and blesses us. We are incredibly fortunate to have a loving God who provides for all our needs. Amen.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
The Lord’s plans for us are always better than we can imagine. He wants us to live in a wonderful home. He blesses our families and relationships. He gives us peace when we need it the most.
He gives us hope of salvation and eternal life.
When we consider how well God’s plans for us come to fruition, we can be joyful and grateful. He is a much better planner than we are!
He can heal the brokenhearted and mend damaged relationships. He knows what words to put into our months to bless our communications. He has the ultimate recipe for happiness. Amen.
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. – Luke 12:29-31 KJV
The Lord knows what our basic needs are, but He also knows what we need to be happy, healthy, and safe. He knows what things we need and what we do not need.
He doesn’t force us to accept things that are not a good fit for us. He cares about every detail of our lives, and when we truly let go and trust Him, He blesses us with more than we can ask or think.
We do not have to settle because when we wait on the Lord, He helps us. He shows us where we should go and what we should do.
When we take time for prayer and meditation, the time is never wasted. Amen.
He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and walk humbly with your God. – Micah 6:8 NIV
Good things and abundance come from the Lord. When we act justly and love mercy, we become closer to God in our walk with Him.
We can trust that when we show mercy, He will bless our lives in a much bigger way than what our limited minds can fathom. He has good plans for us, much greater than we know.
When He calls us to move, we can move. When He asks us to trust Him, we can know that He will never let us down. We can have peace that when we follow God’s purpose for us, we will be blessed beyond imagination. He renews and teaches us each day. Amen.
