Prayer Reflection: Day 33

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. – 1 Timothy 6:10 NKJV

A certain amount of money is necessary to tithe, but the more we focus on how great life will be when we have more money, the more we need to turn our eyes upon Jesus and ask, “How can I serve?”

I’ve paid coaches in the past to help me with money mindset, and although money is not bad in and of itself, I realize that back then I focused on what money could do for myself, not others.

Now that I ask the Holy Spirit’s guidance each day, I have shifted my focus to what God wants me to do, rather than what I need to do to be successful in the world’s eyes. This world will pass away, but God’s love for us will never end.

Those who don’t believe in Jesus are really missing out. Hope gives us a reason to live and overcome difficulties. Jesus overcame death for us so that we could have access to eternal life. With the dawn of each new day, we can rejoice in the blessings God has given us. Amen.
