Prayer Reflection: Day 32

And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.” – Job 1:21 NKJV

We can’t take anything with us to heaven.

I love watching Natalie Bennett’s “Messy to Minimal” series on YouTube. She’s a mom with three young children, and she did a lot of family vlogs before she decided to narrow her niche and focus on minimalism.

Minimum is easier said than done when it comes to children’s toys.

I asked my son where his Chase Paw Patrol pup was the other day, and he ran upstairs, dumped out his entire toy bin, and proudly presented me with the lost toy. He somehow knew exactly where it was.

As I was putting toys back in his bin, I wondered to myself how he got so many. He is only four years old.

We had decluttered some of his toys when we moved from Blackfoot to New Mexico earlier this year.

When I asked him what he missed about Idaho, he told me he missed his two friends next door. He said he was sad and angry that he couldn’t play with them.

I was a little shocked to hear these things from my little boy’s mouth.

People count, not things. Amen.
