Prayer Reflection: Day 3

Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. – 1 Peter 2:13‭-‬17 NKJV

Submitting to God’s will is difficult when we are stubborn and think that we are always right. We’re not always right, and we don’t know more than God. He is the King, and what He says comes to pass. He spoke the world into being, and He can solve all our problems.

One of my Bible study lessons referenced a quote by C. S. Lewis, regarding the lion:

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.’

C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)

We don’t need to take over the Lion’s job. He is strong enough to handle things without us contributing our worries.

The more we cast our cares upon the Lord, the easier our lives become. Amen.
