Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. – Philippians 2:3 NKJV
I come from a long line of caregivers. Auntie Lena never had children of her own, yet she raised my mom and her siblings. My mom took care of my dad for 13 years while he had Alzheimer’s disease. Now, not only do I care for my four-year-old son, who has more energy than most humans, but also I am taking care of my mom this month while she is visiting. She had food poisoning last night, and by the grace of God she felt better this morning.
Caregivers can’t afford to be selfish. They have too much to do. The Lord is our ultimate caregiver, and He never gets tired. Amen.
