But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. – Luke 6:35 NKJV
Perhaps one of the hardest things that Jesus asks us to do is to love our enemies. So many action movies glorify fearless heroes who go after their enemies. Vengeance is the Lord’s to determine, and as hard as it is to refrain from judging, if we want to be more like Jesus, we can practice a thankful mindset, and show kindness to those who may be rude to us.
Sometimes we may feel like God shakes us up, like a bug in a trap, tumbled up and down by an energetic child. God always sets us back down in the right place.
We are children of the living God. We can shine more brightly when we reflect God’s goodness. Amen.
