For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. – Galatians 5:13 NKJV
Liberty comes from Jesus, because He frees us from the bonds of death.
This 4th of July has been different for me, because my family normally travels to Idaho Falls to see the fireworks with Grandma Decker, but with her passing this June, it was just not the same. We stayed home and got stuff done around the house.
I carefully stored some of Grandma Decker’s beanie baby collectible bears in plastic bags to keep them clean. It was the least I could do in service to Grandma, who loved 4th of July the most out of all the holidays. Despite having 33 grandkids, Grandma Decker miraculously made known to all the children parading around her house that the beanie babies were not to be touched. Her grandkids respected her boundaries.
Despite all the sadness in this world, we can still be grateful for our freedom to share our religious beliefs, to live in a beautiful country with spacious skies, and to admire magestic mountains.
This Independence Day, wherever you are, may you have peace and ease. Amen.
