The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me….to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. – Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV
The Lord can comfort those who mourn. He can take sadness and turn it into joy. He can take a bad situation and turn it around. Nothing is impossible for God.
He can take even the most strained relationships and turn them into loving relationships.
He can turn resentment into forgiveness.
He can reunite those who are separated, even those separated by death.
This world is not our final home.
When we are upset, the Lord hears our cry. He is saddened when we feel isolated, because He is always with us. Many things, people, and circumstances can distract us from the Lord, but He can redirect us back. He loves us beyond measure.
A plant without water withers, but a plant that is well-watered flourishes. Amen.
