Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, 7 NKJV
It’s interesting that love is personified in the Bible verse above. Instead of commanding us to love, be patient and kind, avoid envy, not be full of pride or behave rudely, and avoid being self centered, easily angered, and quick to do evil things, God simply tells us what love is.
Jesus is the embodiment of love.
Gardens don’t tend themselves. Whenever we take time to care for “the garden of our minds,” we can weed out the unhelpful thoughts and nurture happy thoughts.
Love never fails. The next time we find ourselves feeling grumpy, we can remember how much God loves us. Amen.
