Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds. – Psalms 119:27 NIV
Four years ago, I gave birth to my son, Jacob. I named him after Jacob in the Bible. Jacob was blessed, and my son is, too.
During busy times it’s difficult to meditate, but when we make time to pray and meditate, we can more easily get through the challenges of the day with our Lord’s help. He doesn’t abandon us when we are in pain or when we are afraid.
My husband came down with a fever and a nasty cold last night, so we had to cancel my son’s in-person birthday party today.
As difficult as it has been to be a COVID-19 Long Hauler myself, today I had enough energy to make Paw Patrol masks with my son. He loves anything Paw Patrol related, and he even got Paw Patrol gifts from some of his friends and family, even though we had mentioned that gifts were not necessary at his Zoom birthday party yesterday. At least he had a socially-distanced celebration.
Even during tough times, we can find something to celebrate, and all good things come from the Lord. When we understand and follow God’s precepts, we can better handle what comes our way, during good times and bad. Amen.
