And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them. – John 17:26 NKJV
Jesus knew that love connects us to one another.
Whenever we find ourselves dwelling on the past, we can stop and ask ourselves if we are thinking about something from the past or if we are currently dealing with it in the present. Nine times out of ten the event is in the past.
God’s love for us transcends space and time. He doesn’t stop loving us if we are experiencing a moment of frustration, but He asks us to gently guide our minds back to Him. Once we return, we can reflect on our situation with self compassion.
It is not always possible to let things go when someone wrongs us, but we can recognize that God loves us and forgives us. Amen.
