“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV
A tree branch that is disconnected from its roots cannot survive.
The other day, I pulled up to my driveway and noticed a broken tree branch hanging precariously from another branch. I didn’t want to park under the branches so I parked elsewhere.
Each day we have an opportunity to connect with Christ. We can reserve time to spend reading the Bible and praying, which connects us to our source of life. This prayer meditation time can quiet our minds and heal our souls from past hurts and resentments.
Emotions are normal. Everyone gets thrown off sometimes, but the key is to ask God to give us strength. Amen.
