A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. – Psalms 68:5 NKJV
My dad passed away a year after I got married but before my son was born. Even though my dad isn’t physically around for me to talk to and share jokes with anymore, I still feel like I have a father.
After my dad died, my mom became a widow, something I had never really thought about before. To me, she’s my mom. It is interesting to see how consistently missionaries help her now that she is a widow, and she does need help, especially with her yard.
The other day, my son and I spent a little time in our backyard, where a garden used to be. Even though it needs work, the garden space has potential.
I have my Heavenly Father to comfort me every day. I know I am lucky to have had a good relationship with my dad, and I am certainly blessed to be able to talk to my Heavenly Father via prayer.
Because we have a loving Heavenly Father, we never need to feel like we are fatherless or alone. He is always there to help us. Amen.
