In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:4-5 NIV
As parents, we all have frustrating times when our children are throwing tantrums.
My three-year-old son threw a massive tantrum last night just as my husband and I had arrived with him at a hotel. My husband packed the luggage on the baggage cart and I proceeded to the elevator with my son. Just as we got to the elevator and the door opened, my son threw a fit because he didn’t want to get into the elevator without his dad. But instead of saying he missed Dad, he just cried that he wouldn’t get into the elevator.
I literally had to chase my kid, drag him into the elevator, and drag him out of the elevator when we got to our floor, where he stationed himself in the hall till my husband got there.
By then I felt too frazzled and exhausted to go to dinner, so my husband had to take our son to Walmart to buy pull-ups and microwave pizza.
Today my son seemed fine.
The Lord promises to give us light just when we need it. He comes immediately when we call. Amen.
