Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. – Isaiah 55:2 NIV
My dad used to say, “If you can’t eat it, you don’t need it.”
I must say, having a fresh coat of white paint on old walls really makes a difference in an older home. Although paint is part of the ascetic of improving an older home, and paint should not be consumed, I would say that it delights my spirit to see old things cleaned up so that my house feels more like a home.
God gives us spiritual food, and He always listens to our needs. Amen.
