Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. – Ephesians 5:17 NKJV
Sometimes things don’t go according to our plans. My contractor had a death in the family, so he had to delay finishing the carpet removal from the home in Tijeras till Monday.
The Lord brings comfort to those who mourn. Even though I was not thrilled that I cannot move into the home my husband and I purchased because the pet dander in the old carpet aggregates my allergies, I couldn’t really fault my contractor for the unforseen bad news. Sometimes we have to choose compassion over projects that don’t go as fast as we want.
The snow storm had already caused some delays, but luckily the daycare was open today. I pulled into the snowy parking lot and my toddler immediately had a tantrum because he did not have his snow boots so could not stomp in the snow as he wanted. Sometimes our agendas don’t quite work out.
These small annoyances are sometimes God’s way of reminding us that His will is what takes precedence, and for good reason. He knows what is best for us, and His timing is certain. Amen.
