When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, the Lord appeared to him at night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. – 2 Chronicles 7:11-12 NIV
We are lucky that because of Jesus and His sacrifice, we do not need to travel to a temple these days to prepare burnt offerings.
We may not have access to Solomon’s temple, but we can appreciate traveling to a place of worship.
When my husband, son, and I visited Temple Square, we had to travel several hours. Having never seen the lightning of Temple Square before, I didn’t know what to expect. I would not have known which building was the temple until someone pointed it out, and it was under construction. I actually mistook another building for the temple.
It is impossible to miss Jesus’s sacrifice for us. It’s a blessing that our God cares for us as much as He does. Amen.
