O come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before the LORD our maker. – Psalm 95:6 KJV
Yesterday we traveled to Salt Lake City to attend the lighting of Temple Square with several members of the Decker family.
The temple itself was under construction and completely covered by scaffolding, so we didn’t see much of it at all. When we entered the building called the Tabernacle, which has an enormous organ and a planetarium style set up on the ceiling for a showing of a nativity animation, I looked down at my son.
He had peed on the tabernacle floor! My husband and I have been attempting to potty train him, with on and off success. We quickly cleaned up the mess and put him in a pull-up, and because we didn’t have a set of spare pants for him handy, my husband wrapped him up in his blanket and we returned to our car as quickly as possible.
Jesus meets us where we are. Our circumstances may be humbling indeed, but He doesn’t mind. He loves us anyway. Amen.
