Prayer Devotional: Day 87

For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. – Colossians 1:13‭-‬15 NIV

God brings light, love, redemption, and forgiveness into our lives.

The bond between a parent and a child is special. God loves us so much that He gave His only son so that we might live. Salvation is an incredible gift.

I was shopping with my husband and toddler yesterday, and my son threw a tantrum until we caved and bought the Christmas gift that he wanted. I thought to myself that I was spoiling my son for giving in to fulfill the need, that in his mind, was incredibly urgent.

God patiently listens to us. He gives us gifts even if we don’t really deserve them. He loves us so much that He transforms our hearts, souls, and minds to focus our attention on the things that really matter, not just the things that we think we want at the time. We can trust Him to lead us. Amen.

  1. God gives us gifts every day, He does not wait till Christmas. You and Steve did the right thing, buying the gift when it was needed most. A child does not know easily what waiting means . I Have already bought myself some gifts that I need! LOL

    I LOve YOU!
