Prayer Devotional: Day 59

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. – Philippians 2:12 NIV

If we were to leave a toddler a room unsupervised, would that child obey the rules and refrain from trashing the room? The Lord is incredibly patient with us, but He expects us to revere Him, even if He is physically absent.

The Lord asks us to trust and obey Him, but because we have free will, we sometimes take our own direction instead of listening to God.

When we stop to pray and tune in to His voice, we get to where we’re going much faster. Amen.
