Prayer Journal: Day 329

Day 329

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV

God always gives us what we need,  but not necessarily what we want. What we want isn’t always what is best for us.

Because the Lord is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, He can see what is in our future.

He blesses us abundantly, more than we can ask or think. When life is not going according to plan, we can stop and ask God to show us what He has in mind for us. Amen.

    Day 339

9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” Hebrews 1:9 NIV

    https://hebrews.bible/hebrews-1-9

The Lord designates certain people to be leaders. Jesus was the quintessential leader. He lived by example. He made incredible sacrifices for those who choose to follow Him.

The straight and narrow path is not easy. We try to do good but at times it is like a steep, upward climb that is difficult and challenging along the way.

The Lord strengthens us and gives us courage to follow the path that He has given us. We can trust Him with every detail of our lives, and He will guide our decisions as we cultivate a closer walk with Him. Amen.

    Day 338

14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalms 27:14 NIV

    https://psalm.bible/psalm-27-14

We don’t like to wait. We don’t like waiting in lines at the DMV and we don’t always want to wait patiently as the Lord answers our prayers.

The Lord is worth the wait. Even though it may seem like He didn’t answer us, He is working in the background in mysterious ways. We can trust that He will always give us the answer. Amen.

    Day 337

25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Hebrews 7:25 NIV

    https://hebrews.bible/hebrews-7-25

Jesus is the best advocate we could have. He intercedes for us and saves us.

He always knows the right thing to say.

When we are uncertain where to turn, He voices our concerns to our Heavenly Father.

It will all work out. Amen.

    Day 336

14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” 1 Peter 3:14 NIV

    https://1peter.bible/1-peter-3-14

When we have integrity, we normally attract people around us who have similar values. When our loved ones make sacrifices because they upheld the law, it may seem difficult at first if consequences occur that we don’t expect.

We don’t fit in with those who don’t respect the law be a we love God and want to follow His commandments the best we can.

Sometimes God will remove us or our loved ones from situations where we don’t fit. To us it may seem like a closed door, but God sees the big picture. We don’t have to be afraid. We can always trust that the Lord will lead us along the right path. Amen.

    Day 335

24 Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. – Isaiah 65:24 NIV

    https://isaiah.bible/isaiah-65-24

The Lord hears our cry even before we fold our hands and bow our heads to pray. He knows us better than we know ourselves.

When we surrender our worries and burdens to the Lord, He helps us focus on the lighter work of spreading the gospel.

Parents can easily distinguish their child’s cry from the cries of other kids. They are tuned in to their child’s dilemmas and are othen readily available to meditate situations. Children may not like to share and have to be taught.

The Lord is tuned in to our voices. He doesn’t ignore us. He asks us to share our faith, even if we don’t know how or what to say. He puts the right words in our months to encourage others. We can trust Him.

We are blessed to have such a kind Heavenly Father. Amen.

    Day 334

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:14‭-‬15 NIV

    https://bible.com/bible/111/2ti.3.14-15.NIV

We are so lucky to have God’s Word so readily available to us. Bibles are not accessible to everybody, nor is literacy a skill that everyone has. We can be grateful because whenever we need encouragement, we can pick up the Bible and read God’s words, just like we would a greeting card from a loved one.

When I was preparing to move, I was sorting through old letters and cards and came across a card my dad had written to me. In his small, engineer’s handwriting, I made out what he said, “campfire in the sky…Dad.” I immediately started to cry because the last time I had read that note, he was alive.

By faith I believe that I will see my dad again in heaven. Our Heavenly Father will reunite us with our loved ones in Christ. That will be a beautiful day. We will cry tears of joy. Amen.

    Day 333

17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. – Romans 8:17 NIV

    https://romans.bible/romans-8-17

Children easily change from one moment to another. One second they are laughing and the next they are screaming. But to see a child at play is a joy.

Do we as adults feel joy as easily knowing that we are children of God and co-heirs with Jesus? Do we always rejoice in our eternal inheritance? If not, it’s because we are distracted. The devil likes to throw whatever he can at us to discourage us, but make no mistake, the Lord has already won the battle. We can’t let things sap us of joy; we are entitled to happiness and peace. Each day has a little bit of joy. It’s our job to see it. Amen.

    Day 332

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalms 100:4 NIV

    https://psalm.bible/psalm-100-4

The Lord asks us to praise Him and in everything give thanks, no matter how difficult the situation may seem to us at the time.

Jesus sees the big picture. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Nothing surprises Him.

When we find ourselves grumbling and complaining, we must remember how privileged we are to be the children of God. We are truly blessed, and thankfulness could become our natural state. We can remember to thank Him in every situation, because our God is greater than any problem. Amen.

    Day 331

12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:12 NIV

    https://jeremiah.bible/jeremiah-29-12

The Lord hears our prayers. He is our best friend. He is our Counselor. He is our Savior.

When we are unsure what the future holds, we simply need to pause and ask Him for guidance. Sometimes the answer comes right away. Other times we need to take action in the right direction before we begin to understand where He is leading us.

The Lord does not make mistakes. He will never lead us down the wrong path. He is here for us always. Amen.

    Day 230

17 The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV

    https://zephaniah.bible/zephaniah-3-17

Sometimes I wonder after a long period of illness if God was punishing me for something I had unknowingly done wrong. But other times, I think that maybe I did nothing wrong, and the hardships I experienced are ways of teaching me wisdom and appreciation for good health, a good job, and a supportive family.

The Lord delights in us. He wants to see us happy and successful. He wants us to live a righteous life according to His purpose. We sometimes don’t understand why bad things happen, but we can have faith that one day He will reveal everything to us. Amen.
