Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say rejoice! – Philippians 4:4 NKJV
Relying on the Lord to redeem us is cause for rejoicing.
It is no coincidence that the command to rejoice is repeated twice. Sometimes we forget to find joy in the blessings, large and small, that God gives us.
Having a thankful heart is an antidote to depression, anxiety, and sadness. It is natural to feel sad when something unfortunate happens, but God makes no mistakes, and sometimes He wants us to learn something from our tough experiences.
After we experience illness and He restores our health, we can feel more joy for the good health He gives us. Sometimes healing takes longer than we expect, but that doesn’t mean that God is ignoring us. He listens to us attentively, as a kind Heavenly Father does. Amen.
