And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. – Exodus 3:14 KJV
Names have meaning. “I am” could mean “I am the essence of being.” One of my college professors once told me that.
God’s name, as He communicated it to Moses, was profound. He is, He was, and He will be to come. He transcends time and space. The Lord is powerful beyond belief, so when we come to Him with our prayer requests, it is no sweat for Him to fulfill them. Nothing is too difficult for God.
The English language barely helps us comprehend the profound meaning of The Lord’s name.
When we contemplate His name and spend time in Bible study and prayer, our thoughts change. We shift from the rat race of chasing after wealth and focus on gratitude for what He has already provided to us. Eternal life will more than make up for anything in this life. Amen.
