Set your mind on things above, not on things on earth.
– Col. 3:2
Most of the things I worry about are earthly things, but what would it be like if I shifted my focus to heavenly things? How would I spend my time? Would I still worry? Would I be angry as much as I am now? Probably not. Would I be as resentful and stressed as I am? Probably not.
I have a lot to be thankful for.
Christ died for us when we were yet sinners. Just think about that for a moment. We didn’t earn salvation. It really pained Him to suffer and die for us so that we could be saved. What can we do to become more like Him? What would our thoughts be then? They would not be mainly about work, making more money, or not getting enough done. They would be about who we can share the good news with. When was the last time we invited someone to church? Don’t be discouraged by doing good. There will always be results even if we don’t see them.
The Bible verse/chapter continues:
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. – Col. 3:17
